To get to know Chris a bit better, we recently sat down and asked him a few questions. If you are interested in booking an appointment with Chris, please email him directly at chris.van@coastcapitalsavings.com

Tell us what keeps you in the wealth profession?

Connecting and building relationships with people. My process is deeply rooted in understanding the client’s objectives, defining clear goals, and implementing a holistic strategy to assist the client in achieving those goals. Every client comes with different ideas, challenges, and priorities, so generating a personalized approach for each client is paramount to developing a rapport with the client, listening, and truly understanding what it is the client is looking to accomplish.

You have quite a few letters behind your name on your business card, can you share the designations that you hold?

I hold a Bachelor of Commerce degree, and an associate’s degree in financial planning. I’ve obtained the Personal Financial Planner designation from the Canadian Securities Institute as well as completed the Canadian Securities Course and Conduct and Practiced Handbook Course.

How about outside of the office, what do you enjoy doing in your downtime?

My wife and I, and our rescue dog, George love to enjoy and explore all of what Vancouver Island has to offer. I’m often snowboarding in the winter and camping, hiking, and golfing the rest of the year.

Finally, why Coast Capital?

In my over 15 years in the financial services industry, I’ve had the opportunity to work with several institutions in various areas in the investment space and Coast Capital very much embodies the values and culture that align with my principles and approach to my work.
