Have you ever been bullied? Think for a second about what that felt like. Some say bullying is simply a part of growing up. The teasing, taunting and social isolation that is a part of bullying is something we at Coast Capital believe should never be a part of someone’s life. Especially for youth. This Pink Shirt Day, let’s all make a difference.
So let’s change that.
We’re proud to present CKNW’s Pink Shirt Day to help bullying prevention programs that encourage positive interactions, and teach kindness and respect.
While Pink Shirt Day is just one day a year that we can all send the message that bullying stops here – the organizations that benefit by the donations raised through Pink Shirt Day fight against bullying every day and deserve some attention. They’re doing amazing things.
Where does the money go from Pink Shirt Day?
All proceeds from Pink Shirt Day go to the CKNW Orphans’ Fund which provides grants to help local non-profit organizations working year round on bullying prevention initiatives including:
- Canadian Red Cross of BC
- Kids Help Phone
- Leave Out Violence Society (LOVE BC)
- YWCA Metro Vancouver
- Crisis Intervention and Suicide Prevention Centre of BC
Bullying affects everyone.
Want to help?
By purchasing an official Pink Shirt Day t-shirt, you will help the organizations listed above. You can make a donation to Pink Shirt Day as well.
Spread kindness.
You can also help by sharing #PinkShirtPromise on your social media channels. For every use of the hashtag, Coast Capital and Shaw will donate $1 up to $80,000 to Pink Shirt Day. How nice is that?
We’re a proud partner.
Coast Capital has been the presenting sponsor of Pink Shirt Day in BC since 2012. And as of this year, we’ve invested over $650,000.
Over $1.2 million has been raised for bullying prevention programs as a result of Pink Shirt Day t-shirt sales and donations since 2008. Thank you for your support.
Happy Pink Shirt Day!
Together, let’s support bullying prevention programs that encourage youth to have positive interactions with their peers, and that teach kindness and respect all year long.
