Coast Capital earns 2022 BC’s Top Employer Award

We’re excited to announce that Coast Capital has once again earned a place on the BC Top Employer list, 2022– for the seventh year in a row. The annual competition, now in its 17th year, recognizes top industry leaders, within British Columbia, that offer exceptional places to work. And we couldn’t be prouder to be part of an organization that puts members and employees first.

What does that mean?

The BC Top Employer Award recognizes recognizes organizations  that excel as an employer when it comes to:

  • Workplace atmosphere
  • Health, financial, and family benefits
  • Vacation and time off
  • Employee communications
  • Performance management
  • Training and skills development, and community involvement.

Employers are judged against other organizations in their field to determine which offers the most progressive and forward-thinking programs.

Making an impact.

We’re on a mission to improve the financial potential of every person, partner, and community it impacts. And that starts by empowering our employees to make an impact too. On their careers, their lives and within the communities they serve. Through courage, connection, and the drive to re-imagine, it embeds social purpose into its day-to-day operations and throughout every dimension of the businesssetting a robust standard for a positive employee experience, member satisfaction, and social contribution.

Coast Capital’s Chief People Officer, Ania Cox, credits the company’s win to its best in class employee experience, which centers itself on ensuring employees feel understood, autonomous, valued, cared for, and invested in.

“At Coast, we are guided by our employee promise–five holistic principles that are integral to how we build a better future as an organization, from the inside out. We drive deeper connections, flexibility, personal growth, and holistic well-being—but most importantly, we are grounded in our purpose to make a collective impact,” said Cox. “This recognition reminds us of the incredible things we can achieve together, and as a community, when we put purpose and our people at the heart of everything that we do.”

A culture of care.

Further deepening its commitment to building better futures together, Coast Capital encourages its people to give back to their communities through the Help Heroes employee volunteer program, which supports employees to volunteer during work hours as well as on their own time. Through the program, employees receive 10 dollars per hour of service to donate to the charitable or non-profit organization of their choice—up to 1,000 dollars a year.

A Certified B Corporation™ since 2018, Coast Capital is part of a growing movement of changemakers using business as a force for good. It invests 10% of its budgeted bottom line into its communities—totaling almost $91M since 2000.

With a long list of prestigious business accolades, Coast Capital is not only a B.C. Top Employer, but a platinum member of Canada’s Best Managed Companies and a Canada’s Most Admired Corporate Cultures™ Hall of Fame inductee.
